Bond Street Dental Studio have partnered with Somnomed, a company specialising in oral appliances to aid in the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.
Snoring may disturb the sleep of the sufferer and their partner and good sleep is important to overall health and well being.
Relaxed airways can collapse in sleep producing soft tissue vibrations during breathing which result in snoring. With an oral snoring device the airway remains open allowing easier breathing and preventing snoring and usually mild sleep apnea.
A mandibular advancement splint called the SonoMed MAS™ is a custom made oral appliance which is worn during sleep hours to aid in the treatment of snoring and mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Treatment involves one initial appointment to take impressions of the upper and lower jaws followed by a second appointment to fit the appliance. In most circumstances a consultation with a medical practitioner or sleep specialist is required prior to proceeding with the construction of a snoring device.
